THE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that well-wishers from the Republic of Korea have been generously donating to support flood victims in Myanmar. On 7 October, Venerable Chung Myung and Abbess Jeong In from Myungsa Temple, along with Abbess Ja Woon from Daejongsa Temple, visited the Myanmar embassy to donate five million won.
Myanmar Ambassador U Thant Sin accepted the donation and expressed his gratitude for the support.
Additionally, on 30 September, Mr Won Bae Dahn, the Honorary Consul-General of Myanmar in Busan, donated US$3,000 to the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul to aid relief and rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by flooding in Myanmar.
The Myanmar Embassy is reportedly receiving various contributions for flood relief, and all donations will be forwarded to those impacted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — ASH/ TMT
