Over 1 million stimulant tablets worth K 2.2 billion were seized in Kyaukpyu Township of Rakhine State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team comprising members of Myanmar's navy searched a powered schooner and apprehended Mya Lwin, Min Min Soe, Thant Zin Naing and Naing Lin Tun along with 1.478 million stimulant tablets worth K 2.2 billion at the Rakhine coast, Kyaukpyu Township of Rakhine State at about 4:00 am on September 23.
As a result of investigation, Zaw Min Oo and Pyae Phyo Maung who transported the seized drugs from Yangon Region to Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State were arrested at Seikkyikhanaungto port in Yangon Region at 10:00 on September 14.
According to investigation, the drugs were carried from Shan State to Yangon Region and transported to Rakhine State. The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA
