THE 2025-2026 Myanmar National League (MNL) Matchweek IV concluded on 22 September at the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre, with Maha United defeating Rakhine United 3-2. Neither team had yet to secure a victory this season, and Maha United claimed its first win with an exchange of goals. Rakhine United, now under the guidance of new head coach U Min Tun Lin, has suffered four consecutive defeats at the start of the season.
Maha United fielded a full-strength squad including Kyaw Swa Min, Kaung Myat Thu, Patrick and Htoo Wai Yan. Rakhine United also played most of their strongest line-ups, including two foreign players. Maha United player Patrick scored the first goal in seven minutes and 21 minutes and added a third just before halftime. The second goal came from Htoo Wai Yan in 21 minutes. Rakhine United’s Moustapha scored the first equalizer in 25 minutes of the first half, and Khin Kyaw Win struck another equalizer in 81 minutes of the second half.
In the match played on 21 September, Thitsar Arman defeated Yangon United 2–1. Due to the result of this match, Yangon United was pushed down from the top place in the table.
After Week IV, Hanthawady United and Dagon Star United lead on 10 points each, followed by Yangon United on nine points. Shan United and Yadanabon EC have seven points each, Ayeyawady United got six points, Maha United, ISPE FC and Thitsa Arman have four points each, Dagon Port got three points, Yamanya United got one point, and Rakhine United remain winless. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
