Senior General Min Aung Hlaing highlighted that all districts operate agriculture, livestock and industrial high schools to turn out human resources capable of operating agriculture, livestock and industrial production.

 

 

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said so at the meeting with departmental officials of Meiktila District and town elders at Kandaw Min­gala Hall in Meiktila yesterday afternoon.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General underscored that all districts op­erate agriculture, livestock and industrial high schools to turn out human resources capable of operating agriculture, livestock and industrial production.

 

He urged officials to shape Meiktila District to become a model district in tex­tile industries to improve socioeconomic life of the region.

 

The Senior General pledged to pro­vide assistance for operating cooperative system in undertaking agriculture and livestock tasks.

 

Staff assigned duties in Meiktila and residents have to broaden their horizon to develop Meiktila District with collabo­rative efforts, he added.

 

He noted that Meiktila is a commer­cial hub in the centre of Myanmar, facili­tated with universities and colleges in the education sector.

 

The Senior General emphasized that as Meiktila possesses many sound foun­dations in education sector, it is necessary to encourage education sector.

 

With regard to encouraging the edu­cation sector, he recounted that students are learning education, accounting for 60 per cent of the population who can attend the KG+12 educational scheme in the country.

 

Hence, he continued that morale and disciplines of students will be different depending on their educational grades, adding that at least, if students attend KG+12 educational scheme, they will have the skills of following disciplines.

 

Officials reported on accomplishment of the guidance given by the Senior Gen­eral on his tour of Meiktila District, devel­opment of agriculture and livestock sec­tor, efforts to develop production, cotton cultivation and increased production, and encouragement for education promotion.

 

Union ministers discussed supervi­sion for utilization of farmlands in Meiktila District, coordination to regrow market­able crops in the flood-affected acres of farmlands in the district, supply of quality strains of oil crops and agricultural inputs for farmers in growing winter crops, and fulfillment for education promotion in Meiktila District.

 

Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council members General Maung Maung Aye and Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union ministers U Min Naung, U Hla Moe and Dr Nyunt Pe, Mandalay Region Chief Minis­ter U Myo Aung, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), officials and town elders.

 

The Senior General viewed the site chosen for construction of a student as­sembly hall in Meiktila and left necessary guidance to officials. — MNA/TTA
