MES holds annual meeting, elects new members for central committee

Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw attended the Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) annual meeting and general election held at MES Function Hall in Yangon, Hline Township, yesterday morning.

 

At the meeting, the Yangon Region Chief Minister delivered his greetings, followed by a speech by Union Minister U Han Zaw.

 

Union Minister U Han Zaw expressed his delight for the establishment of MES, which the country can rely upon during this time when the country’s development is gaining increasing momentum.

 

Since MES was established on 23 December 1995, the successive central committees have conducted their works with force and unity to achieve success, and are urged to maintain these superior results.

 

The present central committee members, and new central committee members who are to be elected, are required to retain these successes and continue the good works to benefit the country and society, said the Union Minister.

 

Also, MES President U Aung Myint explained about the works, duties and responsibilities of MES and took commemorative photographs.

 

After the event, the Union Minister observed the MES new youth engineer committee’s “Process & Production Show 2019” exhibits.

 

Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected the major renovation of the National Library at the corner of Merchant Street and 32 Street in Yangon, performed by Special Building Group 2, where officials explained about the renovation works. The Union Minister then inspected the construction of a four-story ward at South Okkalapa Women and Children Hospital, where officials explained about the status of the construction. The Union Minister commented on increasing the quality of the work and urged the keeping of proper work records. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
