UNION Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Wah Wah Maung separately received a delegation led by Mr Xu Huajiang, Vice-President of China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, and another del­egation led by Mr Duan Zhikui, Chairman of Yunnan Baoshan Hengyi Industrial Group Co Ltd, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday after­noon at Office 1 of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Eco­nomic Relations.

They held an open and frank discussion on the potential for China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd to cooperate with the Chinese government in the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by the Mandalay earth­quake on 28 March 2025.

Subsequently, the Union minister met he delegation from Yunnan Baoshan Hengyi Industrial Group Co Ltd. At the meeting, Chairman Mr Duan Zhikui openly discussed matters related to potential investments in Myanmar in the sectors of energy, international production and logistics, culture, tourism and healthcare, agriculture and fisheries, and supply chain and e-commerce.

The meetings were attend­ed by the director-general of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, the Director General of the Di­rectorate of Investment and Company Administration, other senior officials from the ministry, and responsible officials from the respective companies. — MIFER
