UNION Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Wah Wah Maung separately received Mr Samir Sudhir Wanmali, Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of the World Food Programme (WFP), and Mr Sanjay Mathur, Asian Regional Director for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.
They frankly discussed matters related to ongoing humanitarian assistance, the work plan that will be implemented in 2026, preparing for the strategic work programme (2027-2029) and future cooperation activities between Myanmar and WFP.
Continuously, the Union Minister received Mr Sanjay Mathur, Asian Regional Director for UNOPS, and they exchanged views on the ongoing cooperation programmes in Myanmar, the plans between Myanmar and UNOPS and the rehabilitation process that was affected by the earthquake.
The meetings were also attended by the director-general and senior officials from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, the representatives from the WFP and UNOPS Offices. — MIFER
