Minbu, 12 August

Minbu (Saku) Township in Magway Region has cultivated 20,252 acres of rain-fed paddy out of a targeted 40,988 acres for the 2025 season, according to the Township Agriculture Department. The department expects to meet its goals for SRI planting, seeded areas, and overall yield.

To support this, a farmer training course on achieving target yields was launched on 30 July at the Thein Kone Agriculture and Regional Development Training School, said U Kyaw Soe Lin, staff officer of the Township Agriculture Department.

Around 100 rain-fed paddy farmers participated, learning about agricultural innovations, including AI and deep-seek AI technology in farming, seed research, proper fertilizer use, pest control, crop rotation, and post-harvest techniques—all aimed at boosting productivity.— Zeyar Naing (Shwe Kan Myay)
