THE semifinal matches of the Futsal Champion Cup 2025 took place on 24 July at the MFF Futsal Indoor Stadium in Thuwunna Football Complex, Yangon, with defending champions MIU and Winner Generations securing their places in the final.
In the first semifinal, MIU displayed dominant form with a 5-1 win over TG United. In the second semi-final match, Winner Generations edged past YRG in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time, winning 3-1 on penalties. The match was decided by the impressive performance of the Winner Generations goalkeeper, who saved three of the four penalties taken by YRG.
Despite YRG strengthening their squad with elite-level players, they fell short of the final and will now compete in the third-place match. MIU, meanwhile, showed championship quality by securing a clean-sheet win even though they played second in their semi-final lineup.
On 26 July, TG United and YRG will play for third place, while MIU and Winner Generations will clash in the title match. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
