DEPUTY Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint led the Myanmar delegation to the 2025 China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooper­ation and Development, held in Nanning, Guangxi Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, from 15 to 16 Septem­ber 2025.

 

On the morning of 15 Sep­tember, the Myanmar dele­gation, headed by the Deputy Minister, met Ms Lu Xinning, Vice-Governor of the Guangxi Autonomous Region, at Guangxi Polytechnic of Construction and held discussions.

 

The opening ceremony of the conference followed, where Ms Lu Xinning officially declared the event open. Heads of dele­gations from ASEAN member states delivered opening re­marks and exchanged views on the advancement of vocational education through artificial in­telligence (AI).

 

At the ceremony, Depu­ty Minister Dr Zaw Myint ad­dressed the growing impact of AI technology, Myanmar’s efforts to promote agriculture-based industries, small and medi­um-sized enterprises, “one re­gion, one product” initiatives, and import-substitute industries. He also discussed opportunities for growth if AI technology were integrated into these sectors.

 

Around 400 participants, including deputy ministers and delegates from ASEAN member states and China, attended the opening ceremony.

 

In the afternoon, the Myan­mar delegation visited practi­cal training facilities at Guangxi University of Finance and Eco­nomics, including the ASEAN AI laboratory, garment technology exhibition, and digital fashion de­sign classrooms. They discussed possible cooperation in applying AI and digital technology in ed­ucation before joining a dinner hosted by the Guangxi Education Department.

 

This morning, the dele­gation attended a discussion session at Guangxi University of Finance and Economics on the theme “Promoting Digital Economy Development through AI Technology” and toured ex­hibitions at the Guangxi Skills Master Hub. — MNA/KZL
