THE ceremony of appointing 174 new nurses who completed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) was held on 29 October at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the ceremony, the Health Union Minister presented a letter of order to two BSN fresher nurses on behalf of a total of 174, of them 84 completed BSN from the University of Nursing, Yangon and 90 completed BSN from the University of Nursing, Mandalay.

At the event, the Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win said the newly appointed nurses are supposed to serve healthcare for the public in different areas they are assigned, and he wants them to be qualified and follow their professional ethics.

Using their basic nursing and midwifery skills, he wants them to be good, skilled nurses who want to serve the public with a good attitude, to have good behaviours, to be disciplined, and to a friendly to the public. The Ministry of Health will continue appointing 3,287 new nurses in December 2025 and February 2026. — MT/ZS
