UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine received Mrs Prabashini Pon­namperuma, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar, at the ministry’s reception hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

They frankly discussed matters related to reciprocal visit to destinations of the two countries, implementation of religious and cultural tourism between Myanmar and Sri Lanka, direct flights to desti­nations of the two countries, implementation of Buddhist cir­cuit pilgrimage tours between Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, continued implemen­tation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for tourism cooperation and the holding of online meetings to increase bilateral govern­ment-private tourism cooper­ation.

Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe, director-general and senior officials were present at the event. — MNA/TS
