DEPUTY Minister for Informa­tion U Ye Tint met members of the National Literary Award for Lifetime Achievement Se­lection Committee yesterday morning at the meeting hall of the Printing and Publish­ing Department on Theinbyu Road, Botahtaung Township, Yangon. They discussed and coordinated matters related to the selection of the award and preparations for the success­ful organization of the literary award ceremony.

 

In the afternoon, the dep­uty minister inspected the ongoing construction of the three-storey reinforced con­crete Sarso Beikman building in Mingala Taungnyunt Township in Yangon and the renovation of the Sarpay Beikman Library.

 

During the inspection, he emphasized the need for the project to be completed on schedule with good quality, and for preparations regard­ing furnishings and exhibition arrangements to be carried out simultaneously with the build­ing’s completion.

 

Later, the deputy minister visited the Wazira Cinema on Bogyoke Road in Kyauktada Township, where he met com­pany representatives and offi­cials responsible for restoring the cinema to international standards while preserving its historic heritage. They dis­cussed plans to expedite the submission of measures to be taken and related matters. — MNA/MKKS
