UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, together with a group of artistes, visited Loikaw, Kayah State, yesterday morning to observe the situa­tion of peace and stability in the region. They warmly greeted departmental staff and local residents, entertaining them with songs.

 

They were welcomed in Heho by Shan State Chief Min­ister U Aung Aung. They then continued their journey to Loi­kaw, Kayah State, where Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, along with departmental of­ficials and residents, extended a warm welcome to them at the city entrance.

 

The Union Minister and the Kayah State Chief Minister, to­gether with the artistes, also paid homage to the sacred Taungkwe Pagoda in Loikaw. At the District Office of the Information and Public Relations Department in Loikaw, the Union Minister encouraged the staff and pro­vided financial support.

 

In the evening, artistes in­cluding Academy award winners Yan Aung, May Than Nu, Soe Myat Thuzar, as well as Dein Daung, Ohn Thee, Nyein Chan, Yin Latt, Thinzar Myint Mo, Nay Chi Nyein Chan and others, en­tertained departmental staff and local residents with musical per­formances.

 

After the performance, the Union minister and the state chief minister presented honor­ary cash awards to the artistes. — MNA/KZL
