UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn presided over the meeting on upgrad­ing the Wazira Cinema into the Red-Carpet Theatre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

 

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the working committees and subcommittees are organized and assigned du­ties to upgrade the Wazira Cine­ma into the Red-Carpet Theatre. The Head of State also inspected the cinema and provided instruc­tions. The cinema should be pre­pared not only for film screenings but also for multipurpose use in various artistic activities, and ar­rangements are to open in March 2026. In upgrading the Wazira Cinema, it is necessary to consid­er and arrange for parking spac­es, and the flyover and underpass should be constructed to ensure convenient and smooth access to the cinema for the people.

 

Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, chairman of the working commit­tee, reported on the activities of subcommittees for the upgrading of the cinema.

 

The chairpersons of sub­committees explained the air conditioning, electricity, main­tenance, audio, lighting and pro­jection activities.
