Union Minister for Immigra­tion and Population U Myint Kyaing received a delegation led by Ms Noriko Takagi, Resident Representative of UNHCR to Myanmar, at the Union Minister’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

 

They exchanged views on implementation of the process to repatriate those who left Rakhine State under the framework of the tripar­tite memorandum of under­standing (MoU) between the ministry, UNDP and UNHCR, further extension of the MoU term, entry visa for foreign staff of UNHCR, coordination with relevant departments for imported materials under the procedures, measures for travels and residences of domestically appointed staff, and further cooperation be­tween the ministry and UN­DP-UNHCR.

 

The meeting was also at­tended by Deputy Ministers for Immigration and Pop­ulation U Htay Hlaing and Dr Myo Thant, Permanent Secretary U Win Zaw Aung, Director-General of the Immi­gration Department U Ye Tun Oo and officials. — MNA/TTA
