THE Ministry of Religious Af­fairs and Culture is reportedly working to publish books on a unified chronology of Myan­mar’s history.

In this regard, the following draft history books have been edited and prepared with the recommendations and guidance of leading historians: “The For­mation of Myanmar’s Soil and the Discovery of Myanmar’s Primitive Fossils”, “The Myan­mar Stone Age”, “The Myan­mar Bronze and Iron Ages”, and “The Early Urban Culture of the Pyu Period”.

The ministry is working to collect, compile, and prepare necessary information, docu­mentary photographs, and maps for printing, to ensure that the draft history books are free from errors and misconceptions.

In addition, discussions are underway regarding the pub­lication of the books, includ­ing approval of book sizes and cover designs, as well as the preparation and submission of the necessary procedures and requirements by the end of Au­gust. — ASH/TH
