THE Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), in collaboration with the German Red Cross (GRC), opened the Trauma First Aid Provider Training in Yangon Region on 29 July, according to reports.

The training programme is being held at Yangon International Hotel in Dagon Township, running from 29 July to 1 August, with 21 Red Cross volunteers from various townships in Yangon Region participating.

The course aims to enhance trauma care capacity, ensure safe and effective first-response assistance, expand knowledge of trauma first aid, and produce qualified trauma first aid instructors.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Dr Myo Nyunt, President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, and Dr Zaw Theik, Chair of the Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee, delivered opening remarks.

Also in attendance were executives of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, responsible officials from the Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee, directors from the MRCS headquarters, and participating Red Cross volunteers. — ASH/KZL
