THE second day of the third meeting of the Myanmar-Russia Joint Counter-Terrorism Com­mittee was held yesterday at the Jasmine Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

Present at the meeting were Lt-Gen Than Htike from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army) and senior Tatmadaw officers, who are committee members, Colo­nel-General Aleksandr Ana­tolyevich Matovnikov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation and committee members.

The two parties exchanged views on Myanmar-Russia co­operation in counter-terrorism, and Co-chairs Lt-Gen Than Htike and Colonel-General Aleksandr Anatolyevich Ma­tovnikov reviewed the discus­sion and concluded the meeting.

The co-chairs signed the agreements, exchanged gifts, and had a documentary photo taken together with the attend­ees. — MNA/KTZH
