THE 2026 MSME market fair, being held at Yangon’s People’s Square to commemorate the 78th Anniversary of Independence Day, is bustling with shoppers, with stalls offering products from various regions of the country at affordable prices.

Yesterday, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, accompanied by regional ministers and officials, inspected the sale of products from various regions at affordable prices and warmly welcomed visitors to the market.

More than 350 stalls are participating in the fair, including shops from industrial zones, MSME businesses, the Small Scale Industries Department, the Cooperative Department, the Yangon Region Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), the Myanmar Rice Federation, and local bookstores and restaurants.

In addition, at the 78th Independence Day Music and Entertainment Pavilion in the centre of People’s Square, many singers, DJs, ethnic traditional dance groups, and new-generation performers entertained the crowd, who joined in singing, dancing, and celebrating.

In addition, bus shuttle services are available to facilitate the public’s visit to the fair, while trash bins and mobile toilets have been provided to ensure proper waste disposal and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
