AS a historic milestone for the Myanmar banking sector, Myanmar Tourism Bank (MTB) has been elected to the Asian Bankers Association (ABA) board of directors for 2026-2027, said MTB.
This is the first-ever for the Myanmar banking sector that MTB has been appointed as a board member of ABA, which was founded in 1981.
MTB CEO U Win Lwin will take the role representing Myanmar, and MTB will bring new ideas for regional business development through making a network with top Asia-Pacific banks, and continue implementing its sustainable and advanced banking goals together with innovative ideas and the extended engagement in the banking sector.
This achievement is a moment of pride that is not for MTB alone but for the entire Myanmar banking community, it said. Through cooperation, MTB will create a brighter banking future by building bridges across Asia, it added. — MT/ZS
