A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Electric Power U Aye Kyaw attended the sixth meeting of the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) on Myanmar-India Cooperation in the electric power sector held on 10 and 11 July in India.
On 9 July, the deputy minister-led delegation met Indian Minister of Power and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal and discussed the bilateral cooperation in the power sector.
The delegation attended the seventh meeting of joint working group and sixth meeting of joint steering committee and signed the Agreement for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) on Myanmar-India transnational high-voltage power grid project.
On 10 July, the delegates visited the National Control Centre of Power Grid Cooperation in New Delhi, the Technical Research and Training Centre and Solar Hybrid Farm of National Thermal Power Corporation in Noida on 11 July and the 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) plant of Power Grid Cooperation in Argara on 12 July. — MNA/KTZH
