THE Myanmar-China Economic Co­operation-Soul Treasure of Myanmar, jointly organized by the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization of the Ministry of Commerce and the Yangon Region Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs As­sociation, took place in Nanning, China, yesterday.

 

Speaking at the event, Union Minis­ter for Commerce U Chit Swe highlighted Myanmar jade that possesses certain market demand and is famous in China, and added that the ceremony was held to penetrate the Chinese market with ruby and sapphire. He mentioned My­anmar ruby, and the countries such as Sri Lanka, Australia, Kashmir, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and the US that produce ruby, whereas Myanma ruby is considered second best.

 

The Union minister continued that the entrepreneurs and representatives from China and other regions with prom­ising markets joined the event, and the Myanmar ruby and sapphire business­people could make a market network.

 

Yangon Region Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association Chairman U Aung Kyaw Zin briefed on the data to ensure a market for Myanma ruby and sapphire, and the association and the Myanmar Trade Centre (Hainan) exchanged an MoU on cooperation in the Myanmar gems and jewellery market in China.

 

The Union minister and party ob­served the displayed gems and discussed with the businesspeople.

 

The members of the Myanmar Tea Association attended the event and displayed Myanmar tea and dried tea leaves. — MNA/KTZH
