A Myanmar-China friendship shopping mall is re­portedly going to be built in Sagaing, Sagaing Region.

 

The Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and the Chi­na Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (CECCM) jointly donated US$223,000 for the Shwe Minwun Market, which will be built as a bilateral friendship market in Sagaing, during the launch of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2025 report at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 24 August, according to a statement by the CECCM.

 

Chinese businesses in Myanmar implemented more than 160 CSR projects in the past eight years, benefiting a total population of more than 420,000 in 10 regions and states.

 

In addition to the infrastructure development and job creation mentioned in the CSR Report 2025, edu­cation, healthcare, and environmental conservation services are important for the country’s sustainable development, Dr Wah Wah Maung, Union Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Relations, said in her opening speech at the ceremony. – Htun Htun/ZN
