THE 2025 Third Quarter My­anmar-China Media Meeting was held on the morning of 26 August at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region.

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint of the Ministry of Information, Chinese Ambassador Ms Ma Jia, Minister Counsellor Mr Zheng Zhihong, and other staff from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, as well as representatives from Chinese media outlets in My­anmar and Myanmar news media. Opening remarks were delivered by Ambassador Ms Ma Jia and Deputy Minister U Ye Tint.

 

During the discussions, Myanmar and Chinese me­dia representatives engaged in extensive talks on the 80th anniversary of China’s victo­ry in the Anti-Japanese War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War. The meeting also coincided with the 75th anni­versary of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China. Participants paid tribute to the Chinese people for their perse­verance and sacrifices during the 14-year war and honoured the soldiers who laid down their lives. Lessons were drawn from these historical events, highlighting the importance of preventing similar tragedies in the future, maintaining peace, supporting China’s unity, and strengthening the enduring friendship between the peoples of Myanmar and China.

 

Discussions were further reviewed and elaborated upon by Minister Counsellor Dr Zheng Zhihong of the Embas­sy of the People’s Republic of China. The 2025 Third Quarter Myanmar-China Media Meet­ing concluded in the afternoon with closing remarks by Minis­ter Counsellor Mr Zheng Zhi­hong. — ASH/KNN
