MYANMAR will compete in five para shooting events at the 13th ASEAN Para Games, which will be held in Thailand from 20 to 26 January 2026. “The shooting has not been included in the Games for about a decade.
“Since it is being reinstated this year, the host country has been making extensive preparations. Other participating countries, like us, are also preparing accordingly. For the competition, nine athletes were initially selected, and seven were chosen based on their performance. The four qualified ones out of seven have been undergoing one section training starting from 1 May 2025.
“Shooting is a sport that requires precision and mental stability. Shooting is not something that can be done by memorization, but it requires hands-on practice,” said U Hla Moe, coach of the Myanmar Para Shooting Team. The athletes are making efforts to train and prepare so that the para shooting team can bring honour to the country at the 13th ASEAN Para Games.
