MYANMAR Customs, together with Customs representatives from Brunei, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Singapore, carried out a joint field validation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) companies in Myanmar on 6 and 7 November.
The inspection teams visited UPG Paint & Coating Co Ltd in Hlinethaya Industrial Zone and Wilmar Myanmar Riceland Limited in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone to assess their compliance with AEO standards.
The joint validation examined whether the recognized AEO companies were operating in line with World Customs Organization (WCO) guidelines, adhering to laws and regulations, and implementing international trade security measures effectively.
With the successful completion of this joint validation, Myanmar Customs expects to fully implement the ASEAN Authorized Economic Operator Mutual Recognition Arrangement (AAMRA) by December. — MNA/KZL
