MYANMAR detained 31 Chinese nationals, 15 Filipinos, four Indonesians and one Pakistani, totalling 51 individuals, involved in telecom fraud and other criminal activities in Kayin State, yesterday.
Between 30 January and 13 October 2025, a total of 9,490 illegal immigrants were identified and detained in Myanmar. Of this number, 9,337 individuals have already been deported through Thailand to their respective countries, while arrangements are being made to deport the remaining 153 individuals. These individuals are currently under detention while awaiting repatriation.
The government is strictly cracking down on online scams and online gambling by cooperating with other countries, including neighbouring countries. — MNA/KTZH
