According to reports, Myanmar launched 40 new international investment projects worth a total of US$248.68 million during the first half of the 2025–2026 financial year, reflecting growing investor interest in the country’s economic sectors.

 

The Ministry of Investment and For­eign Economic Relations (MIFER) has announced that it is inviting in­ternational investment in agriculture-based industries. Among the CLMV countries, Vi­etnam is expected to invest in Myanmar.

 

The CLMV countries — Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam — have ex­pressed interest in investing in Myanmar. Vietnamese business representatives, led by Vietnam’s Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, met with members of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Com­merce and Industry (UMFCCI) to discuss investment conditions and potential sectors.

 

The MIFER is inviting foreign invest­ment in Myanmar’s agriculture-based sec­tors, as well as in the oil and gas, mining, electricity generation, and industrial sectors.

 

Reports indicate that 40 new interna­tional investment projects were launched in Myanmar during the first half of the 2025– 2026 financial year, with a total investment value of US$248.68 million. — ASH/TH
