Myanmar to face Iran in Paris Olympic Women’s Football Qualifiers

Previously, host Myanmar is in the first stage of Group (B) of the 2024 Paris Olympic Women’s Football Tournament Asian Zone Qualifiers with Iran, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Bangladesh.

As Bangladesh, and the Moldovan teams withdrew from the tournament, only the host Myanmar and the Iran will continue to compete.

After the Asian Football Confederation accepted the withdrawal of Bangladesh and the Maldives, the fixture list was revised.

According to the re-drafting of the schedule, team Myanmar and Iran will have to compete in two matches as the home and away matches system, and all these two matches will be played only in Myanmar.

Team Myanmar will play against Iran on 5 and 8 April at 4:00 pm Myanmar time at Thuwunna Stadium.

The team with the most points from two matches will advance to the second round of the Asian Zone qualifiers for the 2024 Paris Olympic Women’s Football Tournament.

If the score is the same after playing two games on 8 March, overtime will continue for 30 minutes.

If there is no result of winning or losing, the penalty decision must be taken.

The matches will be broadcast live on SKY NET Channel, Myanmar Football Federation stated. — KZL
