Myanmar to host AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2 in Mandalay

Myanmar U-16 women’s football squad is making preparations for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2, the Myanmar Football Federation reported.

Myanmar team will be camped in Australia for 10 days ahead of the Qualifiers Round-2. Myanmar will host the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 2 at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay from 27 February to 3 March this year. Myanmar team is pooled in the (B) together with China, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

Myanmar team will play the opening match against China at 6 p.m. on 27 February, Bangladesh at 6 p.m. on 1 March and the Philippines at 6 p.m. on 3 March. Myanmar team was the winner of the Group (E) in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers Round 1 after beating Nepal, Malaysia and the Philippines. The first round qualifiers were held in Nepal from 15 to 23 September.

A total of eight teams will qualify to play in the final tournament to be held in Thailand between 15 to 28 September 2019.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
