UNION Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo presided over the 60th ASEAN Senior Transport Of­ficials Meeting and Related Meetings in a hybrid mode in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

In his opening speech, the Union minister welcomed the senior officials from ASEAN countries and partner coun­tries, and talked about the im­plementation of ASEAN Com­munity Vision 2045, Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2030, ASEAN Transport Sec­toral Plan 2026-2030, succes­sive support of dialogue partner countries in innovation and ca­pacity building to develop the sustainable transport sector in the ASEAN region.

 

The country hosted the ASEAN Senior Transport Of­ficials Meeting and Related Meetings in 2003 and 2014, and for the third time in 2025.

 

The meeting was attended by senior officials from ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Sec­retary-General’s Office and di­alogue partner countries such as China, Japan, Korea and the EU. The meetings will be from 17 to 19 November. — MNA/ KTZH
