MYANMAR national badminton player Maung Hein Htut, repre­senting the Myanmar Badmin­ton Federation with the approv­al of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, secured the gold medal at the Uganda Interna­tional Series 2025, held from 2 to 5 October in Uganda.

 

Competing in the men’s sin­gles event, Maung Hein Htut defeated players from the UAE and India to reach the final. In the championship match, he tri­umphed over a Malaysian player with scores of 21–14 and 21–9, winning in straight sets after five matches to claim the gold medal.

 

In the final standings, Maung Hein Htut of Myanmar took the gold, the Malaysian player earned silver, and an In­dian player claimed bronze. A total of 15 countries participated in the tournament.

 

According to the Myanmar Badminton Federation, Maung Hein Htut will next represent Myanmar at the XXXIII SEA Games. — Arkar Linn/KZL
