UNION Minister for Agricul­ture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung received Pakistan’s Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Tariq Karim yesterday at the Union Minister’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

During the meeting, both sides held open and construc­tive discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in agricul­ture and livestock trade, pro­duction of hybrid cotton seeds for producing high-quality cot­ton varieties that are resistant to pests and climate change, production of new cotton va­rieties using biotechnology, development of dairy buffalo farming, and cooperation in research and development, including technologies for meat product production and marketing.

 

The permanent secretary, directors-general, and respon­sible officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation were present at the meeting. — MNA/MKKS
