Myanmar to play opening match against Indonesia in AFF U-22 Championship 2019

The AFF U22 Championship 2019, a prominent football edition in ASEAN Region, will be hosted by Cambodia from 17 February to 1 March.

 

Myanmar U-22 men’s football squad is pooled in Group-B together with host Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia. Myanmar U-22 men’s football team is scheduled to play an opening match against Indonesia on 18 February, will compete with host Cambodia on 20 February and clash with Malaysia on 22 February.

 

After the event, the squad will play the qualification for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship on home soil. Myanmar will compete with Japan, Timor-Leste and Macau in a round robin format in the Group-I. The group winner will qualify directly for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship to be held in Thailand.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
