MYANMAR exported about 6,000 tonnes of various sesame in the first quarter Q1 (April-June) of the current financial year 2025-2026, generating income of US$8.1 million, according to Myanmar Pulses, Beans, Maize and Sesame Seeds Merchants Association.
The association aims to meet the export target of 90,000 tonnes of sesame this FY. Myanmar’s sesame is primarily exported to China, and is also sent to Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Singapore. — NN/KK
