THE traditional Myanmar theatrical art (Thabin) is one of the country's most treasured national cultural arts. They will implement a commemoration of ‘Myanmar Thabin Day’ as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Myanmar Thabin Association (Central).

There is evidence that the Myanmar Thabin, which involves playing music and dancing, originated during the Pyu era and has been practised since then. It is one of the most treasured national cultural arts, the association said on 12 October, regarding the designation of a day to honour it.

In the near future, artists from various fields, including historians, technicians, and scholars, will be participating in the seminars for "Designating Myanmar Thabin Day " organized by the association as soon as possible.

Regarding the designation of the 'Myanmar Thabin Day', suggestions and historical facts can be sent to the office of the association at the corner of Insein Station Road and Lanthit Road, Insein Township, Yangon, via phone numbers 01 371528, 01 3640982 and 01 3640983, it stated. — MT/ZN
