Myanmar Vovinam (Kun Bokator), Chinlone teams win further gold medals in XXXII SEA Games

MYANMAR Vovinam (Kun Bokator), and Chinlone (cane ball sport) teams grabbed one gold medal each in the XXXII SEA Games as the sports events were held at Chroy Changvar Hall C, Phnom Penh at 9 am on 8 May.

 

Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, the Philippines, and Indonesia participated in the Kun Bokator (one woman + two men) attacking event, and a team of Paing Zeya Phyo, Maung Ank Bwe Nyein, and Ma Nila Soe Oo secured the gold medal for Myanmar, while Cambodia picked silver, and Laos and Indonesia got the joint bronze medal.

 

Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, and Indonesia participated in the Women’s Swordsmanship Competition, and Myanmar’s Theingi Win Kyaw won the silver medal,

 

Next, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Lao competed in the Men’s Swordsmanship Competition, and Myanmar’s Maung Ank Bwe Nyein collected one bronze.

 

In the Three Women’s Talent Competition, Ma Wuttyi Oo, Ma Myat Noe Oo, and Ma Theingi Win Kyaw garnered another bronze while competing against Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines in the Vovinam Event.

 

Other categories of Vovinam event were also held at Chroy Changvar Convention Centre, Hall (F), and Myanmar’s Maung Aik Soe Lin won the gold medal, Viet Nam the silver, and Indonesia the bronze while competing in the Men’s Sword Performance Event which was participated by Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.

 

Next, Myanmar’s Maung Tin Htoo Zaw won a silver medal at Men’s Long Stick Performance Event while competing against Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

 

Myanmar’s Eain Dray Phoo grabbed a silver medal at the Women’s Aspect Broadsword Single Form Event while competing against Indonesia, the Philippines, and host Cambodia.

 

In the Men’s Pair Knife Form Event, Myanmar’s Maung Aung Khaing Lin, and Maung Hein Htet Aung garnered the bronze medal while competing with Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

 

Next, Maung Aung Khaing Lin and Ma Chit Nodi Saung won another bronze at (Men’s and Women’s) Self-Defence Form Event.

 

Next, Chinlone (cane ball sport) events were continued at Basketball Hall NSTC.

 

Myanmar Chinlone Team (Ma Lae Waddi Zaw, Maung Aung Myint Myat, Ma Nhin Wuttyi Bo, Maung Aung Naing Phyo Han, Ma Shun Lae Wai, Maung Thaw Wai Zin, Ma Nyein Ei Mon, and Maung Sai Zaw Zaw) bagged the gold medal with 459 points, while Lao Team secured the silver and Cambodia grabbed the bronze at the (Men+Women) Linking Event-3 Event.

 

Next, the Myanmar Chinlone Team (Maung Sai Zaw Zaw, Maung Pyae Phyo Kyaw, Maung Min Khant Win, Maung Aung Naing Phyo, Maung Thurein Lin, Maung Duwun Kyaw, Maun Khant Win Hein, and Maung Kaung Myat Thiha) won one silver medal with 407 points while competing in the Men’s Linking Event-3 against Lao, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

 

In the Women’s Linking Event-3, Myanmar Chinlone Team (Ma Mhon Nantha, Ma Lae Waddu Zaw, Ma May Phoo Han, Ma Shun Lae Win, Ma May Phyo San, Ma Nhin Wuttyi Bo, Ma Nyein Ei Mon and Ma Khine Thazin Phyo) won another silver medal with 309 points while competing with Thailand, Laos, and host Cambodia.

 

On 8 May, Myanmar competed in Vovinam (Kun Bokator), Chess, Vovinam, Chinlone, Billiard, Athletics, Kun Khmer, Volleyball, and Lethwei (traditional boxing) competitions and won three golds, five silvers and five bronzes.

 

On 9 May, Myanmar also participated in Chess, Vovinam, Tennis, Chinlone, Badminton, Billiard, Volleyball, Kun Khmer, Cricket, Football, Lethwei and Athletics.

 

At the XXXII Southeast Asian Games, Myanmar collected 38 medals in total including eight gold medals, seven silver medals and 23 bronze medals to date. — MNA/KZL
