MYANMAR secured its third gold medal at the XXXIII SEA Games through billiards and snooker sport, adding five more medals to its tally during a productive day of competition in Thailand. The gold medal came from the men’s billiards team event, while two bronze medals were claimed in Sepak Takraw, along with one bronze in equestrian and one in judo.
The Games are being held in Bangkok and Chonburi, with Myanmar athletes competing across a wide range of sports. In the men’s billiards team final, Myanmar defeated Singapore by three matches to one, earning the country its third gold medal of the Games. The team’s achievement was recognized with cash awards presented by officials and donors.
Myanmar also won bronze medals in the men’s and women’s team regu events in Sepak Takraw, the equestrian event combining dressage, show jumping and cross-country, and the men’s and women’s team judo event.
As of the conclusion of competitions on 14 December, Myanmar had won three gold medals, twelve silver medals and eighteen bronze medals, bringing the total to thirty-three medals and placing the country seventh in the overall standings at the XXXIII SEA Games. — MNA/KZL
