THE SEA Games women’s football Group B fixtures continue today in Chonburi, Thailand, with Myanmar facing Malaysia. Myanmar will play Malaysia at 3 pm Myanmar Standard Time, followed by Vietnam against the Philippines at 6 pm. If both Myanmar and Vietnam win today, they will be well placed to reach the semi-finals before meeting each other in the final group match. If either team drops points, qualification will hinge on the final-day results. On the opening day, 5 December, Myanmar defeated the Philippines 2-1, while Vietnam recorded a 7-0 victory over Malaysia.
Myanmar will need a convincing win over Malaysia to remain on course for the top spot in the group. However, with several players injured in the previous match against the Philippines, head coach Yuki will have to adjust the line-up with the upcoming fixtures in mind. Myanmar are expected to take all three points against Malaysia, but the margin of victory may prove decisive. — Htun Thway Eain/KZL
