THE Myanmar women’s na­tional football team departed for Vietnam yesterday to com­pete in the 2025 ASEAN Wom­en’s Championship to be held from 6 to 19 August.

 

The team includes U Kyi Lwin as head, Yuki Tetsuro as coach, U Sa Htet Naing Win and Daw Thuzar Htwe as as­sistant coaches, U Sein Aye as goalkeeping coach, players: Myo Mya Mya Nyein (Thitsa Arman), Ei Sandar Zaw (Ay­eyawady), Zuu Lat Nadi (In­stitute of Sports and Physical Education) as goalkeepers, while the defenders are Hnin Pwint Aye, Lin Lae Oo, Than Than Nwe (Institute of Sports and Physical Education), Phyu Phwe (Yangon United), Zun Yuya Oo, Phyu Phyu Win (Ay­eyawady), Khin Myo Thandar Tun (Shan United) and May Thet Mon Myint (Thitsa Ar­man), the mid-field players are Naw Htet Htet Wai (Ay­eyawady), Khin Mar Lar Tun, Shwe Yi Tun(Institute of Sports and Physical Education), Win Win, Khin Mo Mo Tun (Thitsa Arman), Nan Phyu Phyu Thwe, Yupar Khine (Shan United), Yoon Wadi Hlaing (Yangon United), the attackers are San Thaw Thaw (Ayeyawady), Myat Noe Khin (Thitsa Arman), May Htet Lu (LA Pierce College, USA), and Win Theingi Tun (Sabah, Malaysia).

 

Eight teams will compete in the tournament. Group A includes Vietnam, Thailand, In­donesia, and Cambodia, while the Philippines, Myanmar, Aus­tralia U23 and Timor-Leste are in Group B. Myanmar will face Australia U23 on 7 August, Ti­mor-Leste on 10 August, and the Philippines on 13 August in the group stage. — Mg San Gyi/KTZH
