Myanmar’s Chinlone, Vovinam teams grab gold medal each in SEA Games

Myanmar Chinlone team won one more gold medal at the XXXII SEA Games Chinlone competition (Men and Women) held at Basketball Hall NSTC, Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 7 May.

 

Team Myanmar won the gold medal in the Women’s Sames Stoke-Event-2 competition with a score of 221 points.

 

In this competition, the Cambodian team earned the silver medal and the Lao team bagged the bronze medal.

 

In the Men + Women Event-2 Mixed competition, Cambodia, Lao, and Myanmar competed and the Myanmar team collected the silver medal with a score of 198 points.

 

Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Malaysia competed in the Men’s Same Chinlone Event-2 competition, the Myanmar team won another bronze medal with 174 points.

 

After the Chinlone competitions, the awards ceremony continued.

 

The first, second and third prize winners were awarded by the Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and the leader of the Myanmar Sports Association director-general of the Department of Sports and Physical Education.

 

Next, Men’s and Women’s Vovinam competitions were held at Chroy Changvar Convention Centre, Hall (F).

 

Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Viet Nam and Lao competed in the Men’s Dual Form, and Myanmar won the gold medal, Viet Nam the silver, and Lao and Cambodia the bronze respectively.

 

Myanmar won bronzes at the Women’s Cross Form, 60-kilo Women’s event, 60-kilo Men’s event, Women’s Ying-yang Sword Form, Mixed Basic self-defence, a team of three men plus three women event, and four women’s one-handed sword competition.

 

Next, gold, silver, and bronze medalists of the Women’s Single Shooting event were awarded by the Union Minister.

 

Next, the Union Minister enjoyed Myanmar vs Cambodia men’s football match at Olympic Stadium (Prince Stadium) where Myanmar beat Cambodia 2- 0.

 

On 7 May, Myanmar teams competed in Chess, Vovinam, Chinlone, Tennis, Billiard, Kun Khmer, Lethwei, Football, and Volleyball events and garnered two gold, one silver, and eight bronze medals.

 

On 8 May, Myanmar teams participated in Vovinam (Kun Bokator), Chess, Vovinam, Chinlone, Billiard, Athletics, Kun Khmer, Volleyball, and Lethwei.

 

In the XXXII Southeast Asian Games, Myanmar has won five gold medals, two silver medals and 18 bronze medals for a total of 25 medals to date. — MNA/KZL
