MYANMAR Women’s Institute of Sports and Physical Education Club won a 9-0 triumph over Guam Women’s Club Strykers on the first day of group A of the 2025-2026 AFC Women’s Champions League qualifiers at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre in Yangon yesterday.
The champion of the Myanmar Women’s League, ISPE club, consisted of players from the national team, the junior team, as well as five loan players from other Myanmar Women’s League clubs. Due to this squad, they outperformed their opponents and achieved an emphatic win.
The ISPE’s first lineup included Zu Latt Nadi (goalkeeper), Khin Marlar Tun, Moe Ma Ma Soe, Phyu Phway, Phyu Phyu Win, Lin Myint Mo, Shwe Yee Tun, Lin Lei Oo, Yin Lunn Eain, Hay Marn Soe and May Htet Lu.
In five minutes, ISPE opened the scoring when Club Strykers conceded an own goal. That was quickly followed by goals from Yin Lunn Ein in eight minutes, May Htet Lu in 12, Lin Myint Mo in 16, Phyu Phyu Win in 18 and 30, and Shwe Yee Tun in 44, giving ISPE a commanding 7-0 lead at halftime.
ISPE made substitutions in the second half and added two more goals — San Thaw Thaw scored in 87 minutes and Moe Moe Than struck again in 89.
The ISPE club is in Group A with the Philippines club Stallion Laguna, Guam club Strykers, and Mongolian club Khovd Western. Myanmar’s ISPE club will play the Mongolian club Khovd Western in the second group match on 28 August. – Ko Nyi Lay
