Acting on a tip-off, a joint anti-narcotics team raided the home of Thein Htun in Yadanabon Ward, Ushibin Town, Padaung Township, Bago Region, at 2:00 PM on 24 August. The operation led to the seizure of 30,000 stimulant tablets, estimated to be worth Ks 60 million.
In a separate incident on 22 August at 6:00 PM, authorities searched a motorcycle driven by Thura Aye from Pyi Gyi Tagon Township near the intersection of 69th and 107th Streets in Myothit Ward-2, Chanmyathasi Township, Mandalay Region. They also intercepted a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle driven by Kyaw Thet Khaing of Monywa Township, accompanied by Hlaing Moe from Chanmyathasi. A total of 480,000 stimulant tablets worth Ks 720 million were confiscated.
Likewise, at 11:00 AM on the same day, a Toyota Hilux Vigo driven by Kyaw Zin Htwe of Myitkyina—with Kyaw Zin Aye as a passenger—was stopped and searched. Authorities discovered 2.86 kilograms of heroin worth Ks 42.9 million, and 30,000 stimulant tablets valued at Ks 15 million.
All suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force.—MNA
