Coronavirus restrictions were eased in India's capital, New Delhi, on Monday as daily case counts stayed low.
The number of new cases in the country started dropping sharply in late January. On Sunday, the daily tally in New Delhi stood at 484, with a positive test result rate of 0.95 percent.
Restaurants in the city are now allowed to operate without capacity restrictions. People in private vehicles are not required to wear masks for the first time in about two years.
A manager of a restaurant in the city said everyone's happy to be able to operate at full capacity and it seems like they are coming to an end of the battle against the coronavirus.
A nighttime curfew ended on Monday. A fine for not wearing a mask on public transportation or other places where required was reduced to the equivalent of 7 dollars, or one-fourth the original amount, also on Monday.
In February, the authorities ended a 7-day quarantine period that was required for everyone arriving in the country. Social activities in India are returning to normal.
