Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Myanmar exceeded US$110 million over the past four months, according to data from the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

 

From April to the end of July in the 2025-2026 financial year, FDI inflows into Myanmar amounted to $118.7 million.

 

During the four months, the country saw a total of 26 new projects: 24 in the domestic manufacturing sector, one in the oil and gas sector, and one in the service sector, with a total investment amount of $106.291 million. Furthermore, capital increases in existing investment businesses amounted to $12.408 million. According to DICA data, there was no new investment in the livestock and energy sectors, only increases in the capital of existing businesses.

 

Of the 53 countries and regions currently investing in Myanmar, China, Singapore, and Thailand have invested during the first four months of this financial year, with foreign investors focusing mainly on the energy, oil and natural gas, and manufacturing sectors among the 12 domestic economic sectors. — Htun Htun/TH
