National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC and representatives from the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) engaged in a peace talk at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Lt- Gen Min Naing, the secretary of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and members and RCSS Secretary-1 Sao Sai Ngin, Central Executive Committee members Sao Saung Han and Sao Um Khe and Central Steering Committee members Sao Sai Han and Sao Sai Lyan.
In the meeting, agendas for discussion were set first before the secretary of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and the RCSS secretary-1 delivered their keynote speeches.
Arrangements to celebrate NCA’s 8th birthday profoundly, to cooperate in measures to conduct free and fair general elections in EAO-active areas, to collaborate in humanitarian aid providing efforts in EAO-dominated areas, sections that deserve to be amended in 2008 Constitution and regional development were discussed.
Both parties also exchanged views on the requirements for the economy presented by RCSS.
The second day of the meeting will be held on 22 September. — MNA/TH
