Officials from the Township Department of Rural Development (DRD) conducted a field visit this morning to inspect the completed construction of a multi-purpose hall in Kaungsung Village, Metman Township in the Wa Self-Administered Division of Shan State.
During the visit, the officials met with village elders, emphasized the importance of ensuring construction quality and long-term maintenance of the hall, and provided necessary support based on the needs submitted by local residents.
The hall, which measures 40 feet in length, 24 feet in width, and 12 feet in height, was constructed starting in the third week of June this year. The project was carried out by villagers under the close supervision and technical guidance of DRD staff.
The total construction cost was Ks 17.75 million, comprising Ks 15 million in funding from the DRD and Ks 2.75 million contributed by the villagers. The project is now 100 percent complete.— Maung Khaing (DRD)
