Mongnai, 19 August

In Mongnai Township of Namhsan District, Shan State (South), a total of 52 acres has been designated for sunflower cultivation this year. As of now, the full target area has been successfully planted, and the crops are flourishing.

The Township Agriculture Department has established a five-acre rain-fed sunflower plantation in Lungsan Village, providing farmers with technical support and essential inputs. Seeds harvested from this plantation will be used for the upcoming winter crop, covering an additional 125 acres.

Interest in sunflower cultivation among local farmers has grown compared to last year. The Township Agriculture Department continues to support them by offering ongoing technical assistance to promote sustainable and productive farming practices.— Myo Nyunt Shwe (Mongnai)
