THE opening ceremony of the 2025 Inter-State and Region Billiards and Snooker Tournament was held at 9 am yesterday at the Padetha gymnasium, South Okkalapa Township, Yangon.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, together with Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Htein Lin, officially opened the tournament and greeted the athletes. Afterwards, the chief minister, the deputy minister, and regional ministers watched and encouraged the first-day matches of the individual billiards and snooker events.
The tournament features both individual and doubles events in billiards and snooker, with more than 270 athletes from states and regions taking part. The competition will continue until 8 October. — Arkar Linn/ KZL
